The Maldives Meteorological Service has stated that there is a possibility of strong winds and rough seas across various parts of the Maldives over the next three days.
The MET Office said that as this is the transition period from the Northeast Monsoon to the Southwest Monsoon, rain clouds forming south of the Maldives are observed to be moving towards the southern atolls. Therefore, it is expected to rain in various parts of the Maldives over the next 3 days, and it is likely that some islands will experience heavy rain with thunderstorms. Additionally, it was noted that there is a possibility of rough seas along with strong general winds in some areas.
Forecasting the weather for the next 24 hours, the Maldives Meteorological Service stated that rain and thunderstorms are likely in various areas, and heavy rain is expected in some islands. Furthermore, winds are expected to blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 13 and 23 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 40 miles per hour during showers.
In addition, seas are expected to be moderately rough and rough during showers, with wave heights estimated to be between 4 and 7 feet.
