Search begins for missing dhoni traveling from Gadhdhoo to Hulhumale

A dhoni traveling from G.Dh. Gadhdhoo to Hulhumale has gone missing.

Police stated tonight that the missing vessel is a dhoni named "Brilliant Carrier", which departed from G.Dh. Gadhdhoo to Hulhumale around 8:00 pm the previous night. Police also mentioned that there were 5 people on the dhoni, comprising 3 Maldivians and 2 foreigners.

Police added that the last contact with the missing dhoni was made as it was approaching to enter Huvadhu Atoll.

"The last contact with the dhoni was at 2:40 am on April 28. At that time, the captain stated they were getting close to entering Huvadhu Atoll. There has been no contact with the dhoni since then," the police said.

Following the report of the missing dhoni to the Gadhdhoo Police Station at 6:00 pm today, the police have shared the information with the MNDF Southern Area Command, and efforts to locate the dhoni are currently underway.

Police have requested that anyone with any information regarding this dhoni contact the National Emergency Number 911 or the nearest police station.
