The National Meteorological Centre has urged seafarers to be cautious of the weather during sea travel, as rough seas and bad weather are forecasted.
Due to the bad weather, the centre has just issued a white alert for a large part of the Maldives. Forecasting heavy rain, the meteorological centre issued the white alert from K. Atoll to GA. Atoll. The centre issued the alert from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The alert stated that heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected during this time. It is also forecasted that winds will gust up to 40 miles per hour during showers.
