The ADh. Fenfushi Island Council has banned sand mining from all areas of the harbour except for the western breakwater area of the harbour entrance channel.
The Fenfushi Council stated that the sandbank that had entered the area cut to circulate currents at the western end of the harbour has now significantly depleted. Additionally, the sand that has filtered through the western breakwater of the entrance channel and entered the channel has now protruded significantly, posing a risk of blocking the channel. Therefore, clearing this sand is highly important.
