Rough seas expected, White Alert issued for a large part of the Maldives

The National Meteorological Service has issued a White Alert from B. Atoll to GDh. Atoll.

The White Alert, issued for these atolls from 06:00 pm to 12:00 am tonight, states that winds are expected to blow between 25 to 30 miles per hour, and seas will be very rough.

Weather alerts are currently in effect for other atolls in the Maldives as well. A White Alert has been issued from HA. Atoll to R. Atoll until 10:00 pm tonight. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in these atolls, with wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour during showers. In addition, a Yellow Alert has been issued for Addu City and Fuvahmulah City until 07:00 pm tonight. The Met Office predicts winds of 25 to 30 miles per hour and very rough seas for these two cities during the alert period.

The Met Office has previously stated that the weather will be bad across all parts of the Maldives over the weekend. The weather is expected to clear up on Monday.

Due to the bad weather, relevant authorities have urged everyone, especially seafarers, to be cautious of the weather during this period.
