The National Meteorological Center has stated that rough seas are expected today as well.
The MET office issued a white alert for a large area of the Maldives this morning, valid until 12:30 pm, predicting bad weather.
The white alert was issued from HA Atoll to R Atoll, and from L Atoll to Addu City. During the alert period, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in these atolls. Winds are expected to blow between 19 to 24 miles per hour, with gusts up to 45 miles per hour, and rough seas are predicted.
