Rough seas expected in northern atolls today

The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast rough seas for the northern atolls today.

A White Alert issued for the northern atolls from 08:00 am to 02:00 pm today states that winds are expected to blow between 19 mph and 24 mph, and seas will be rough.

Generally, seas are expected to be rough across all areas today. The Maldives Meteorological Service estimates wave heights to be between 4 to 7 feet. Therefore, the authority advises seafarers to be cautious of the weather.

The authority stated that although some islands may experience showers, the weather will generally be fine today. Winds are expected to blow from the southwest and west at speeds between 13 mph and 23 mph.
