Revetment work has begun at Lh. Kurendhoo harbour.
The contractor for the Lh. Kurendhoo harbour development project, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), stated that site preparation and revetment construction using boulders are currently underway.
Under this project, MTCC will undertake the re-dredging of 36,363 cubic metres of the previously dredged harbour basin, construction of a 63-metre revetment, a 415-metre breakwater, a 243-metre long by 2-metre wide RC jetty, and a 60-metre long by 2-metre wide RC jetty. This project was awarded to MTCC by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure to be completed within 450 days at a cost of MVR 53.36 million.
MTCC commenced the practical work on this project on October 27 last year.
