Repair work on Kooddoo Ice Plant underway!

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has stated that repair work on the Kooddoo Fisheries Complex (KFC) ice plant is proceeding without interruption.

The Kooddoo ice plant's services were interrupted due to an electrical issue. MIFCO stated today that the engineering team has now completed the phase of checking the plant's generator functions and identifying the electrical problem, and the next step is to find solutions to the challenges in operating the plant. Accordingly, engineers are working to resolve the electrical issue, and additional engineers will join the Kooddoo engineering team to bring the facility back into operation, MIFCO said today.

Although MIFCO stated that work is underway to resolve the issue with the ice plant, the company did not specify when services would resume. MIFCO said that it will proactively share information with the media as the work progresses.

Out of the 11 ice plants in Huvadhu Atoll, ice is currently only available from the Faresmaathodaa and Thinadhoo ice plants. MIFCO stated that its engineers are also active in identifying and resolving the issue at the Gadhdhoo ice plant.
