Registration Opens for Thilauthuru Fishing Race

To mark this year's Fishermen's Day, it has been decided to hold a fishing race in HA. Atoll, and the opportunity to participate has been opened.

The fishing race, named "Thilauthuru Masrace", will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Interested parties are requested to fill out the application form and submit it to the council before 14:00 on December 01, 2025. Forms can be emailed to the council office (Info@kelaa.gov.mv). Additionally, the council states that forms will also be accepted at the council reception.

The HA. Atoll Council has now published the rules for the fishing race. The race will feature cash prizes.

Prizes allocated for the fishing race:

• 1st place: 20,000 MVR
• 2nd place: 10,000 MVR
• 3rd place: 5,000 MVR

In addition, a cash prize of 2,500 MVR will be awarded to the participant who catches the heaviest fish.
