Registration opens for 'Nalanala Henbadhoo' fishing competition

The Henbadhoo Council has decided to hold a fishing competition to mark this year's Fishermen's Day and has opened the opportunity to participate in the race.

The fishing competition, held under the name "Nalanala Henbadhoo Masrace 2025", will take place on Saturday, 13 December 2025.

The opportunity to register for the race, which aims to appreciate and encourage the hard work of those working in the fishing industry, raise awareness among more youth in Henbadhoo about the industry, and strengthen community ties on the island, is open until 14:00 on Thursday, 11 December 2025.

The council stated that when registering, the team list, team name, and the name of the vessel going fishing must be noted. The council requested to contact Assistant Council Officer Maryam Reesha Rasheed (Phone: 9175835) at the council office to register for the fishing competition.

The rules of the fishing competition will be available at the council office counter, and the council requested to contact Council Executive Ahmed Rasheed (Phone: 7531753) for any clarifications regarding the competition.
