Rasfannu beach polluted with black oil

Black oil has washed ashore at Rasfannu beach, polluting the water.

The Police stated that due to the accumulation of black oil along the shoreline at Rasfannu, they are working with relevant authorities to clean the beach. The Police also advised that it is currently unsafe to swim at Rasfannu.

The Police added that they are investigating the matter, as the oil washed ashore at Rasfannu is believed to be engine oil from a sea vessel.

Spilling oil into the sea and ocean is prohibited under environmental protection laws and regulations.
