Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, has stated that over 26,500 cases of canned tuna have been distributed from Male' so far as Ramadan gifts.
He made this statement while sharing an update on social media regarding the distribution of canned tuna cases gifted by the government to every Maldivian household for the month of Ramadan 1447. In his social media post, the Minister stated that the distribution of Ramadan gifts is ongoing across the entire Maldives, and that 26,739 cases of canned tuna had been distributed in Male' alone by the end of last night.
The distribution of Ramadan gifts in Male' City began on the 24th of last month. Except for Fridays, the distribution of Ramadan gifts takes place every night from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Ramadan gifts will continue to be distributed from the current locations in Male' until the 11th of this month.
15 centers have been established in the Male' region to distribute Ramadan gifts. These include 8 centers in Male', 1 center in Villimale', and 6 centers in Hulhumale'.
