The State Trading Organization (STO) fuel station in R. Atoll has been inaugurated.
The STO fuel station for R. Atoll is established in R. Dhuvaafaru. The station in Dhuvaafaru was inaugurated today by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
R. Atoll Fuel Station Inaugurated
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam, Homeland Minister Ihusan, and other dignitaries visiting Dhuvaafaru to participate in the Fishermen's Day celebrations. Skippers currently active on the island and some members of the public also attended.
Designating fuel as an essential service and establishing a convenient arrangement for the general public to obtain petrol and diesel at STO rates in at least one island in every atoll of the Maldives is a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The project to establish "fuel storages" to ensure fuel is available at a basic rate in every atoll is being carried out by STO. Under this project, the government has given assurance that arrangements will be made to provide fuel from 19 islands currently designated by STO by the end of March 2026.
