President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that efforts will be made to resolve the L. Mundoo harbour issue by including it in next year's budget.
He gave this assurance while speaking at a consultative meeting held today with the residents of Mundoo, during his ongoing tour of the inhabited islands of Haddhunmathi.
During this consultative meeting held today at Mundoo School with the island council, senior officials of the island's institutions, and the residents currently living on the island, the needs for the general social development of the Mundoo people were shared with the President.
At this meeting, the island council stated that the most important need for the island at this time is the improvement of the island's harbour. Among the issues raised by the public at this meeting were the improvement of the island's healthcare services and the construction of a volleyball court for women on the island.
Listening to the people's concerns and taking their views into account, the President stated that the establishment of sports facilities, the establishment of facilities to conduct some tests at the health centre, and the air-conditioning of the school, which are included in the projects to be carried out in all islands over the next two years, have been decided to be carried out in Mundoo as well.
During this meeting, the President listened to the issues raised by the island council and the people, and exchanged views.
