Police have urged the public to suspend water sports and various recreational activities at sea until the current bad weather affecting the Maldives clears.
The Police Service stated that with the ongoing bad weather bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and rough seas to various parts of the Maldives, and with many incidents at sea being reported, they urge everyone not to conduct any water sports or recreational activities until the weather improves.
Furthermore, the police urged all parties to stay updated with the latest weather information through the meteorological department and to avoid dangers.
"Your safety is our highest priority. Stay updated on the weather through the National Meteorological Service. And pay attention to avoiding unnecessary risks," the police urged.
Since last Wednesday, various regions of the Maldives have been experiencing bad weather, and many tragic incidents at sea have been reported. On Thursday alone, seven incidents at sea were reported.
