Opportunity to participate in the Landhoo Fishing Competition!

To mark this year's Fishermen's Day, the N. Landhoo Council has decided to hold a fishing competition on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, and has opened the opportunity to participate.

The announcement published by the council yesterday stated that the opportunity to participate in this fishing competition is open to both genders of the island. To participate in the fishing competition, a team of at least 3 and at most 10 people, including the dhoni captain and crew, must be formed, and the application form must be completed and submitted to the council office. The council has requested teams wishing to participate to submit their forms before 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 09, 2025.

The team that catches the most fish (by weight) and wins 1st place will receive a cash prize of MVR 3,000, the 2nd place team will receive MVR 1,500, and the 3rd place team will receive MVR 1,000. A cash prize of MVR 500 will be given to the person who catches the heaviest fish.
