The Maritime Training Institute (MTI) and Addu City Council have opened the opportunity to participate in the "Niyami Course-2" training program scheduled to be held in Addu City.
According to the City Council, this training program is aimed at seafarers in Addu City, those interested in navigating sea vessels for the first time, and fishermen.
The Council opened the opportunity to participate in this training program to the public yesterday. Interested parties are requested to Viber their name, ID card number, contact number, and email address to the Council Office (Phone number: 7925003) or email the Social Affairs Unit at ss@adducity.gov.mv by Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Anyone who can speak Dhivehi and English and understand the course materials can participate in this 30-hour course.
This course, which facilitates obtaining a license to captain Category-B vessels traveling up to 24 miles outside the atolls of the Maldives, will teach maritime safety, navigation, vessel watchkeeping, and general vessel information.
