The Th. Omadhoo Island Council has once again announced the leasing of land for those who need land to produce fish products.
The council first announced the leasing of 4 plots of land near the beach southeast of Ahmed Abdullah Hingun on the island on September 9 of this year. Today, the council cancelled the previous announcement and re-opened the opportunity for interested parties to lease the land.
The announcement issued today stated that 4 plots of 2,000 square feet are to be leased for the production of fish products. It also stated that rent will be charged at a rate of 30 laari per square foot. Two agreements will be made with the recipients of the land, with the first agreement lasting for 6 months. The council stated that if the lessee starts work in accordance with the regulations within the first 6 months, the agreement will be extended for an additional year. The council said the maximum lease period is 3 years.
The council has requested interested parties to submit the "Land Request Form" by visiting the council office or emailing info@thaaomadhoo.gov.mv before 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
