Opportunity for Higher Education Abroad in the Fisheries Sector!

Applications are now open to pursue higher education abroad under the Transforming Fisheries Management in the South West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives Project.

Under this project, conducted jointly by the Maldivian Government and the World Bank, the Ministry of Fisheries opened applications on the 13th of this month for interested parties to apply for three Bachelor's Degree level courses. The deadline for applying to these courses is 12:00 hrs on Sunday, 13 April 2025. The Ministry of Fisheries stated that upon completion of the course, scholarship recipients will be bonded to serve at the Ministry in accordance with Civil Service regulations.

Students who have achieved a grade of 'C' or above in 5 subjects in the G.C.E O-Level examination and a grade of 'C' or above in 3 subjects in the G.C.E A-Level examination are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Additionally, individuals who have obtained a foundation or certificate level university entrance qualification can also apply for these courses.

According to the Ministry, the expenses covered under this scholarship include the course fee, an annual book allowance for the duration of the scholarship, an establishment allowance, a departure allowance, and a stipend for the duration of the studies.
