The Fisheries Ministry has decided to offer 40 children the opportunity to experience diving as part of the activities held to mark World Oceans Day.
The Ministry has decided to hold this event under the name "Discover Dive" at 02:00 pm next Saturday. The opportunity to register for this event, which will be held in the sea area off Hulhumale' Dhiraagu, is open until the end of Tuesday.
While the dive is open to children between the ages of 8 and 15, the Ministry stated that they can participate in the event by filling out the designated Google form. The Ministry also stated that the opportunity will be given to 40 children from among those who register.
The Ministry has also started a 10-day quiz to mark World Oceans Day. While the quiz started on June 7, which is marked as Oceans Day, the Ministry stated that the quiz will continue until the 17th of this month. Every day at 09:00 am, 2 questions are posted on the Ministry's social media accounts.
The Ministry has requested those who wish to participate in the quiz to post their answers as a comment to the daily questions before 12:00 midnight of that day. The Fisheries Ministry has offered cash prizes to the participants of the quiz. Accordingly, a prize of MVR 1,000 for first place, MVR 750 for second place, and MVR 500 for third place has been offered.
