Ooredoo Maldives donates special underwater equipment to MNDF

Ooredoo Maldives has donated special underwater equipment to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

To assist MNDF in their efforts to ensure the safety and security of the Maldives' seas and to conduct underwater operations, the items donated by Ooredoo include:

• 1 Ocean Reef M105 Digital Dual Channel Communication Equipment

These equipments are designed to communicate underwater, improve the safety and security of divers, and enhance the quality of operations. MNDF stated that this will greatly assist the MNDF Coast Guard in conducting safety and rescue operations in the Maldivian maritime area.

The equipment was handed over to MNDF at a ceremony held at Bandaara Koshi on the 27th of this month. The equipment was officially handed over to MNDF by the Managing Director and CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, Khalid Al-Hamadi. On behalf of MNDF, the equipment was received by the Minister of Defence, Honourable Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon.

At the ceremony, Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy and Managing Director and CEO of Ooredoo Maldives, Khalid Al-Hamadi spoke. Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy expressed his sincere gratitude to Ooredoo Maldives for this generous assistance, noting that in a country based on a marine environment, these equipments are extremely useful for strengthening the Coast Guard's search and rescue and underwater operations. Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy also noted Ooredoo's continuous cooperation for maritime safety and security in his speech.

In his speech, Ooredoo Maldives CEO Khalid Al-Hamadi noted that the Maldivian sea is an important part of our lives and that the hard work done by MNDF is extremely important for national security. He said that they are proud to donate these items to assist in the safety of divers and underwater operations. He also noted that Ooredoo's aim is to provide beneficial and sustainable assistance to the community.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General Ahmed Ghiyas, General Officers, Unit Commanders, and senior officials of Ooredoo Maldives.
