The Ministry of Fisheries has decided to auction off old and damaged items at the FAD Centre operated under the Ministry in Hulhumale.
According to the announcement published by the Ministry of Fisheries regarding this, the items will be sold through a daily auction process. The items to be sold include echo sounders, air conditioners, computer keyboards, monitors, CPUs, a washing machine, a refrigerator, and freezers. Details of the items being auctioned can be viewed in the announcement published in the gazette by the Ministry of Fisheries.
The items to be sold include a large number of equipment that have been used for more than 15 years.
The auction for these items is scheduled to be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, 05 August 2025, at the FAD Centre located in the Hulhumale industrial zone. The Ministry of Fisheries requests those who wish to clarify information regarding this auction to call 3339255 or 3339425.
The Hulhumale FAD Centre is the only centre that prepares Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs). The government is preparing to establish FAD manufacturing centres in two additional regions of the Maldives.
