The FAD number is K10V01.
Trolling FADs, established at a distance of between 3 to 6 miles around islands, are specially designed for trolling and sports fishing. The trolling FADs are designed with a light visible from afar and a radar reflector to easily identify the location of the FAD.
The trolling FAD deployment program began last year. Under this program, the work of deploying trolling FADs in various regions of the Maldives was also carried out last year. With the FAD deployed today, the number of trolling FADs included in the Maldives' FAD network has reached 15. The Fisheries Ministry stated that trolling FADs will also be deployed in Laamu and Thaa atolls this week.
