The National Meteorological Centre has urged everyone to be cautious of the weather as conditions are expected to worsen.
In a weather update posted on social media, the agency stated that the Southwest Monsoon remains strong over the Maldives region, and it is expected to bring strong winds, rough seas, and rain. Therefore, all parties, especially travelers, are urged to stay updated with the latest weather information and exercise caution.
According to the meteorological agency's forecast, winds will be strong and will intensify further during squalls. Seas will generally be rough and will become even rougher during squalls.
While rain and thunderstorms are expected across all parts of the Maldives, the National Meteorological Centre has stated that tidal swells are possible during high tide.
With the National Meteorological Centre predicting bad weather, a White Alert has been issued for the entire Maldives until 02:00 am.
