The Maritime Training Institute (MTI) is set to commence classes for the Niyami Certificate Level-2 course scheduled for this month starting tomorrow.
MTI stated that they are fully prepared to begin the course tomorrow, and that opportunities are still open for those who wish to participate. Interested individuals can enroll by calling MTI at 9450555 or emailing admin@mti.edu.mv.
According to MTI, the course will teach maritime safety, navigation, vessel watchkeeping, and general dhoni operations. The 30-hour course is open to anyone who can speak Dhivehi and English and has the capacity to understand the course materials.
This course paves the way to obtain the required license to captain Category B, C, and D vessels that travel up to 24 miles outside the atolls of the Maldives.
The Maritime Training Institute (MTI) is currently the fastest-growing training institute in the Maldivian maritime industry. The institute conducts numerous technical courses needed to develop the maritime sector. These include Niyami Course-1, Niyami Course-2, Marine Mechanic Course, and Crew Course.
