The government has awarded the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) the project to develop a jetty on the south side of AA. Thoddoo.
The project was awarded to MTCC during a ceremony held to meet the residents of Thoddoo, as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing tour of the inhabited islands of North Ari Atoll.
MTCC's Managing Director, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Retired) Ahmed Saudhee, signed the jetty development project agreement on behalf of the company. Minister Dr. Abdulla Muththalib signed on behalf of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure.
Under this project, a 430-meter long and 6-meter wide jetty will be constructed on the south side of Thoddoo, the jetty lagoon will be deepened, and a 70-meter geobag revetment will be installed.
The project, valued at MVR 52 million, was awarded to MTCC with the condition that it be completed within 540 days.
