The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has decided to ban the operation of motorized vessels in the channel connecting Hulhumale' Phase 1 and Phase 2.
In an announcement released today to publicly notify HDC's decision, the corporation stated that starting this coming Friday, the operation of motorized vessels in the waters connecting the two phases of Hulhumale' will be prohibited.
HDC made this decision because the channel is an area used by a large number of citizens, including children and adults, for swimming and recreation, and operating motorized vessels in the area poses a risk to the safety and security of those swimming there. Additionally, it serves as a solution to the difficulties faced in the corporation's ongoing efforts to plant and grow corals in the waters of that area.
HDC noted and expressed gratitude for the cooperation received from the public regarding the corporation's directives.
