MNDF Responds After Speedboat Capsizes

The MNDF Male' Area Command, Coast Guard Second Squadron has provided assistance to people on a capsized speedboat.

The speedboat named "Bullet Speed" capsized while traveling near K. Gulhifalhu. The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that 9 tourists, 2 crew members, and the captain traveling on the speedboat fell into the sea during the incident.

MNDF said the people who fell into the sea were first picked up by a speedboat named "Beach Stone" traveling in the area. Afterwards, they were transferred to the MNDF Male' Area Command, Coast Guard Second Squadron harbor craft that attended the scene, and everyone was safely brought to Male' around 09:40 today, according to MNDF.

MNDF also stated that there have been no reports of any serious injuries to anyone who fell into the sea in this incident.
