Two Sri Lankan fishing boats operating illegally in the Maldives' Exclusive Economic Zone have been taken into the custody of the MNDF Coast Guard.
In a surveillance operation conducted by the MNDF Coast Guard and the MNDF Air Corps, these boats were taken into custody around 08:30 yesterday morning, while operating 51 nautical miles east of HA. Kelaa.
Intercepted based on information shared by regional countries, these two boats have been brought to Kulhudhuffushi City harbour and handed over to the police. The police are currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
