The missing boat has been found by the MNDF Central Area Command, Coast Guard Third Squadron.
The boat being searched for was a cargo vessel named "Kashi Vaali" (Brilliant Carrier), which was travelling from GDh. Gadhdhoo to Male'. The MNDF Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) began searching for the boat yesterday after the owner reported it missing.
The search operation was conducted by the MNDF Central Area Command in coordination with relevant authorities. Utilizing all MNDF resources, the boat was found around 04:00 at dawn on April 29. The boat was located 48 miles northeast of GA. Vilingili. MNDF stated that the boat's engine had failed when it was found, and efforts are currently underway in coordination with the owner to tow the boat to a nearby island's harbour.
