MIFCO to pay outstanding bills up to January 14 today

MIFCO has announced that it will pay the outstanding money owed to fishermen for fish purchases up to January 14 today.

In a message recently shared on the official X account, MIFCO stated that out of the funds being released to fishermen, bills up to January 14, 2024, will be cleared today. They also thanked the fishermen for their continued cooperation.

"On behalf of MIFCO's CEO and management, we would like to thank the fishermen for their cooperation in this matter," the MIFCO message read.

Although MIFCO stated it will release funds for bills up to January 14, the exact amount has not been disclosed. Previously, when funds were released, the money was deposited after deducting the amounts for fuel and ice taken on credit by the fishermen.

The Ministry previously stated that 30 million Rufiyaa would be deposited to fishermen today. They also mentioned that the backlog of money owed to fishermen will be completely cleared by the 5th of next month.
