Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam has stated that once the restructuring of the state fisheries company MIFCO is completed, all issues facing the Maldives' fisheries industry will be resolved.
Speaking at a ceremony held to meet the residents of Ihavandhoo, the Minister said that the Maldives' fisheries industry will be transformed by resolving MIFCO's issues. To achieve this, the work of restructuring MIFCO has begun, the Minister said.
"As MIFCO is being restructured, I see this industry in the Maldives progressing. In this industry, MIFCO buys and exports the most fish in the Maldives. Therefore, when the issues in MIFCO are resolved, God willing, the issues of the entire industry will be resolved," the Minister said.
