The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has re-announced the auction of the fish weighing vessel "Randhi 27" through a closed bidding process.
The opportunity to auction the "Randhi 27", a fish weighing vessel previously used in MIFCO's operations, was first opened on November 25, 2024. MIFCO reopened the auction for "Randhi 27" yesterday because no party expressed interest in purchasing the vessel by the time the previous announcement's deadline expired.
The starting price for the auction has been reduced this time. While the starting price was 500,000 Rufiyaa in the previous round, the starting price this time is 400,000 Rufiyaa.

Participation in the auction is open to parties who register for the closed bid after paying the designated deposit, and 10% of the starting price must be paid as a deposit. Parties wishing to register for the auction must email bid@mifco.mv. According to MIFCO, parties participating in the auction must submit their bids to a dedicated box placed at MIFCO, and a separate letter must be submitted for each auction.
The highest bid submitted in the auction will be published on MIFCO's website (https://mifco.mv/auctions) at 10:00 am on every non-public holiday. If the highest bid remains unchanged for 3 consecutive non-public holidays, the highest bid submitted up to that point will be determined as the highest bid for the property, and the auction will be awarded to the party that submitted that bid, according to MIFCO.
Built with fiberglass, "Randhi-27" is a vessel with a fish storage capacity of 50 metric tonnes, used in MIFCO's operations from October 1, 2018, to January 5, 2024. The vessel is currently located at MIFCO's Felivaru Fisheries Complex. MIFCO stated that arrangements will be made for interested parties to view the vessel upon visiting Felivaru.
Parties wishing to participate in the auction can obtain further information by calling 7772920, according to MIFCO.
