The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), Mohamed Anas, has stated that the opening of the company's fish shop in Addu City will ensure continuous availability of MIFCO products at affordable prices for the residents of Addu.
Speaking at the ceremony held last night to open the fish shop established by MIFCO in Addu City, Anas said that Addu City has a very close relationship with the Maldivian fishing industry and MIFCO. Therefore, he expressed great joy that MIFCO's first fish shop outside the Male' region was opened in Addu.
The CEO said that with this shop, local production will be further expanded through the Addu Fisheries Complex established by MIFCO in Hulhumeedhoo. He added that this will ensure that MIFCO products are continuously available to the people of Addu at affordable prices.
The CEO thanked President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the importance and support he gives to the development of the Maldivian fishing industry and MIFCO. He also thanked the Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, noting his efforts to advance the fisheries sector.
The fish shop opened by MIFCO in Hithadhoo, Addu City is the first fish shop established by MIFCO outside the Male' region. The shop, located facing the Link Road near the ice plant operated by MIFCO in Addu Hithadhoo, started selling MIFCO products last night after its opening.
