The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) and the Maldivian Embassy in Thailand have jointly participated in the ongoing international trade exhibition, "Grand Halal Bangkok 2026," in Bangkok, Thailand.
Taking place from the 15th to the 17th of this month at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, this exhibition is a major event that brings together notable innovators, businesspeople, and diplomats active in the global halal economy from around the world to explore new opportunities in the rapidly growing global halal economy.
At this exhibition, MIFCO showcased its premium quality tuna products produced from the Maldives' sustainable pole-and-line fishery, including the Ranvaru series yellowfin tuna steak and belly cans, as well as Fasmeeru brand tuna in oil, water, and chili. Visitors to the exhibition were also given the opportunity to taste these products.
According to MIFCO, the main purpose of participating in this event in collaboration with the Maldivian Embassy is to seek new business opportunities from international markets and to promote the Maldives' environmentally friendly fishing culture to the world. As a result, international foreign businesspeople will have the opportunity to experience and purchase Maldivian products.
Ambassadors and diplomats from major Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and Kuwait, in addition to the Maldives, participated in the opening ceremony of this exhibition. The Maldivian Embassy's participation in such events is a major boost to the government's efforts to increase the Maldives' exports and strengthen economic ties with Southeast Asian countries.
