The Maritime Training Institute (MTI) has decided to conduct "Niyami Course 2" in GDh. Gadhdhoo.
The Gadhdhoo Council opened the opportunity yesterday for interested parties to register for the course MTI plans to conduct on the island.
The council stated that applicants wishing to participate in this course can register via the council's email info@gadhdhoo.gov.mv or by visiting the office. The deadline for registration is 14:00 on Thursday, 01 May 2025, and the council noted that registrations will be accepted from 08:00 to 14:00 on all official working days.
A specific date for conducting this course has not yet been announced. The council has requested those who wish to clarify further information regarding this course to call 7610607.
"Niyami Course-2" is a course that facilitates obtaining the license required to captain Category-B vessels, which can travel up to 24 miles outside the atolls of the Maldives. MTI generally conducts this course over a period of four days (30 hours). The course teaches components including navigation, communication, and general information about dhonis.
The Maritime Training Institute (MTI) is currently the fastest-growing training institute in the Maldivian maritime industry. The institute conducts many courses required to develop the maritime sector in Male' and the atolls. Astral Marine, operating under MTI, also provides many services related to the maritime sector.
