Marine safety and security information sessions conducted in Ukulhas

Information sessions on marine safety and security have been conducted in AA. Ukulhas.

From the 19th to the 20th of this month, sessions were held in Ukulhas specifically for those engaged in excursion and guesthouse businesses to provide information on preventing marine incidents. These sessions, conducted jointly by the Ukulhas Police Post, Marine Police, and the Island Council, provided information on measures that can be taken to prevent marine incidents and how to act in the event of an engine failure at sea. Additionally, first aid techniques for medical emergencies were taught. Furthermore, information regarding maritime laws and regulations was also provided.

In addition, an information session on marine safety and security was conducted yesterday for the students of AA. Ukulhas School. In this session, attended by students studying in grades 7 to 12 of the school, information was provided on maritime laws and how to act in incidents at sea. Information was also highlighted on how to use life jackets and how to rescue drowning persons. This session was also conducted jointly by the Ukulhas Police Post and Marine Police.

Police stated that these sessions are also scheduled to be conducted at Kuramathi Island Resort.
