The regional dialogue on ocean-based climate action has successfully concluded.
Held under the name "Regional Dialogue on Ocean-Based Climate Action," this was an important meeting to discuss ocean-related climate changes and exchange views on the necessary measures to be taken.
The Maldives was represented at the meeting held yesterday at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Ahmed Muaz.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Ahmed Muaz highlighted the challenges facing the marine environment and the negative impacts they have on small island nations. He also noted the importance of increasing regional and international cooperation on these issues.
Senior environmental officials from various countries in the region participated in this meeting. The Maldives was also among the co-hosts of this meeting.
The Maldives' participation in this meeting is seen as an important opportunity to showcase to the international community the efforts being made by the Maldives regarding marine environmental protection and climate change.
