Maldives and Bangladesh Discuss Technical Cooperation in Fisheries Sector

Important discussions have been held between the Maldives and Bangladesh on strengthening ties in the fisheries sector and sharing technical skills and experience.

These discussions took place during a courtesy call made yesterday by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the Maldives, Dr. Mohammed Nazmul Islam, to the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam.

During this meeting, the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources stated that the two officials held extensive discussions on further strengthening the relationship between the Maldives and Bangladesh, particularly regarding the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of fisheries and agriculture.

Furthermore, the Ministry noted that the two officials also spoke about opportunities for the two countries to work together to increase technical capacity in these important areas and to sustainably develop these industries.
