Maduvvari to lease land for fisheries-related activities

R. Maduvvari Council has decided to lease land for fish boiling, drying, and other fisheries-related activities.

The council stated that five plots from the island's fish boiling area will be leased under the name "Fish Boiling and Drying Land". Accordingly, five plots of 1,800 square feet from the island's ninth block will be allocated for this work. These plots will be leased on a commercial basis for a period of ten years.

The announcement published by the Maduvvari Council regarding this matter states that these plots can only be used for fish boiling, drying, salting, sun-drying, packaging, processing, and other fisheries-related activities. Furthermore, while the winning bidders will be given full authority to establish buildings and other facilities on the land, they must commence fish boiling and drying operations within 4 months of signing the land agreement.

In addition, if more than 5 months pass without work being done on the land without a reasonable excuse after signing the agreement, the agreement will be terminated. The announcement also states that it is the responsibility of the lessee to obtain any necessary permits from other parties for the work carried out on these lands.

The council has now opened the opportunity for interested parties to register for the bid and submit their estimates.

Bid registration must be completed before 13:00 on Wednesday, March 27. Furthermore, the opportunity to submit estimates by visiting the council office is open until 10:00 on Thursday, March 28. The council stated that the opening of the estimates will take place on the day and time of submission.
