A new pole-and-line FAD has been established in Th. Hirilandhoo.
During the Fisheries Ministry team's trip to Th. Atoll yesterday, as part of a broader mission to repair and deploy new FADs in the central atolls, the Hirilandhoo pole-and-line FAD was deployed 32 miles southwest of the island. The FAD number is L08D02. A new pole-and-line FAD was re-deployed in Hirilandhoo because the previous FAD placed there had snapped and drifted away.
During this trip to Th. Atoll by the Fisheries Ministry team, the Th. Buruni trolling FAD was also re-deployed on the first of this month. That FAD was deployed 4.5 miles north of the island. The trolling FAD number is 01-K09V01.
