Lost Fuvahmulah City trolling FAD replaced

The lost Fuvahmulah City trolling FAD has been replaced.

The Fisheries Ministry's technical team deployed the Fuvahmulah City trolling FAD yesterday during their ongoing trip to the southern atolls. The FAD was deployed 6 miles west of Fuvahmulah City. It is noted that this is the same area where the lost FAD was located. The FAD number is Q09V01-02.

With this FAD, there are a total of 2 trolling FADs in Fuvahmulah City. The other FAD is located 10 miles east of the city.

Trolling FADs established at a distance of between 3 and 6 miles around the islands are specially designed for trolling and sport fishing. The trolling FAD is designed with a light visible from afar and a radar reflector to easily identify the location of the FAD.
