"Lhoi Kurendhoo Masrace 2024" Set for December 12

The Lh. Kurendhoo Council has decided to hold a fishing competition named "Lhoi Kurendhoo Masrace 2024" on the 12th of this December.

The council stated that this fishing competition is being held to mark this year's Fishermen's Day and Youth Day. It also aims to strengthen social ties among the residents of Kurendhoo and those living on the island, while celebrating Fishermen's Day at the island level.

The competition will be held with competing teams. A participating team can have a maximum of 12 members and a minimum of 5 members, according to the council. The council has also offered cash prizes for the winning teams.

Prizes offered for the fishing competition:

• First place team - 7,000 Rufiyaa
• Second place team - 5,000 Rufiyaa
• Third place team - 3,000 Rufiyaa

The council has now opened the opportunity to participate in this fishing competition. Those who wish to participate are requested to complete the application form and submit it to the council office before 13:00 on Thursday, 05 December 2024.
