Land to be leased in L. Gan for boiling and drying fish and sea cucumbers

The opportunity to submit bids for land designated for boiling and drying fish and sea cucumbers in L. Gan has been reopened.

Bids were also opened last July to find a party to lease lands "B1, B2" in L. Gan for boiling and drying fish, sea cucumbers, and other similar works. The Gan Council stated that the bidding was reopened yesterday because the parties who submitted bids during the previous opportunity did not propose prices as specified in the information paper.

The council requested interested parties to purchase the bid document from the council office and register for the bid before 12:00 on 21 August 2025. The council stated that the bid registration form can be submitted by visiting the council office or emailing Procurement@gan.gov.mv. The price of the bid document is MVR 100.

Bid submission will be held at 14:00 on the 26th of this month in the council office's seminar room. The council stated that parties who do not attend on time to submit bids and those who are not registered for the bid will not be able to participate in the bidding.

The council stated that if any information needs to be clarified regarding the bid, it can be done by visiting the Gan Council or calling 6801024 before 12:00 on Tuesday, 26 August 2025.

L. Gan is the largest island in the Maldives. It is an island with a large population engaged in pole-and-line fishing, sea cucumber fishing, and reef fishing.
