The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), which operates the Felivaru Fisheries Complex (FFC), has decided to auction TFS scrap metal, metal junk, and used black oil barrels located at the complex.
MIFCO has decided to auction 50 metric tonnes of metal junk, 60 metric tonnes of TFS scrap metal, and 90 barrels of used black oil. Yesterday, the opportunity to participate in the auction was opened. Interested parties can register to participate via email at bid@mifco.mv before 11:00 am on February 15. Participation in the auction requires a deposit of MVR 25,000. MIFCO stated that the deposit money will be refunded to unsuccessful bidders.
The auction will take place at 11:00 am on February 16, 2026, at the MIFCO Head Office meeting room. MIFCO stated that the 90 barrels of used black oil will be auctioned to the highest bidder between the two parties who submit the highest bids for the 50 metric tonnes of metal junk and 60 metric tonnes of TFS scrap metal. Furthermore, the auction will commence based on the highest written bid submitted per metric tonne, and will proceed as a live auction among all attendees.
