Investment opportunities in the fisheries sector shared with Chinese businessmen

Information on investment opportunities available for Chinese businessmen in the Maldives fisheries sector has been shared.

This information was shared during a special meeting held yesterday at the Fisheries Ministry for a delegation of Chinese businessmen currently visiting the Maldives. The investment opportunities were presented by Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam and senior officials of the ministry.

During this meeting, the Fisheries Ministry stated that information was shared regarding the government's efforts to advance the fisheries sector, the development of sports fishing harbours, the government's planned strategy for mariculture development, and opportunities within the blue economy.

The ministry assured the businessmen participating in the meeting that it would facilitate their efforts if they wish to invest and cooperate in this sector.

The ministry did not disclose the number of Chinese companies that participated in the meeting or the details of the participating companies.
