The introduction of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO)'s "Fasmeeru" brand products to neighboring Sri Lanka is a significant achievement under the company's strategy to expand its business in the international market, according to MIFCO's CEO and MD Mohamed Anas.
Speaking at the official launch ceremony of "Fasmeeru" brand products in Colombo today, MIFCO's CEO and MD Mohamed Anas stated that this is a major milestone achieved under the company's strategy to expand its business in the international market. The CEO also noted that introducing the "Fasmeeru" brand to Sri Lanka is an important effort to further expand Maldivian tuna products into foreign markets and to promote the environmentally friendly fishing practices carried out by the Maldives.
In his speech, CEO Anas highlighted that MIFCO always prioritizes sustainable fishing and providing high-quality products to regional and global markets.
The ceremony to officially launch "Fasmeeru" brand products in Sri Lanka was graced by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Senior government officials from both countries, diplomats, and senior figures from the fisheries sector attended the event. Among them were the Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam, the Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Masood Imad, and MIFCO's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mohamed Anas.
The "Fasmeeru" brand products were officially introduced to Sri Lanka under an "exclusive distribution" agreement with Development Interplan Ceylon Private Limited (DICL). Under this agreement, "Fasmeeru" products will be supplied to Sri Lanka's hotel, restaurant, and catering sector, and will also be introduced to the retail and wholesale markets.
