IITE Maritime Academy has decided to start a new batch of the Niyami Certificate-2 course in Male' City and has opened the opportunity to participate in the course.
IITE Maritime Academy has already conducted a Niyami Certificate-2 course in Male' this month. Currently, the studies of one batch are still ongoing. Today, the academy said that they have decided to start an additional batch on the 18th of this month, and the opportunity to register names for those who want to participate in the course has been opened today. The academy stated that interested parties can register by calling 7921961.
This course, which paves the way to obtain the license required to captain Category C, B, and D vessels, is conducted for a duration of 30 hours. Anyone who can speak Dhivehi and English, knows basic mathematics, and can understand the materials taught in the course can participate.
This course, conducted with the permission of the Maldives Transport and Civil Aviation, teaches maritime regulations, communication equipment, navigation, safety, communication, and general information about vessels.
The Maritime Academy, operated under the Island Institute of Tertiary Education (IITE), is the oldest academy conducting maritime courses in the Maldives. The academy has successfully conducted 585 batches of the Niyami Course-2 in Male' and the atolls so far. Currently, the studies of an additional batch are also ongoing in Male'.
