IITE Maritime Academy to start a new batch of Niyami Course-2

IITE Maritime Academy is preparing to start an additional batch of the Niyami Certificate-2 course in Male' City.

IITE Maritime Academy stated that classes for the course will begin on the 17th of this month. Those interested in participating can now register by calling 7921961. The academy noted that anyone who can speak Dhivehi and English, knows basic mathematics, and can understand the course materials is eligible to join.

This course, which paves the way to obtain the license required to captain Category C, B, and D vessels, is conducted over a duration of 30 hours. Approved by the Maldives Transport and Civil Aviation Authority, the course will teach maritime regulations, communication equipment, navigation, safety, communication, and general information about vessels.

IITE Maritime Academy is the longest-running academy conducting maritime courses in the Maldives. The academy has successfully conducted 597 batches of the Niyami Course-2 so far, including in Male' and the atolls. In addition to the Niyami Certificate-2, the academy also conducts the Niyami Certificate-1 course, crew course, and marine mechanic course.
